Come help steer HMS Shaper/Caper - Board of Directors recruitment
Board of Directors recruitment!
We are looking for dynamic people to join our board, with an interest in the arts and the skills required to help us achieve our future ambitions to diversify and broaden our activity.
Shaper/Caper is a dance company based in Dundee presenting the work of multi award winning choreographer, Thomas Small. Thomas is a Clore fellow and the first ever BBC Radio 2 Artist in Residence. Shaper/Caper presents critically acclaimed performance work around the world and is complemented by a diverse Creative Learning programme for people of all ages. We run two major creative learning programmes – Well Good, a partnership with NHS Tayside, which visits 116 primary schools each year, and Cmd-Shift, a year long digital arts project for young people aged 10 to 25 taking place in Dundee, Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. With Well Good alone, we will work with 7000 children this year. We are in the process of applying for charitable status. Thomas’ work includes Within This Dust, an acclaimed piece of work exploring the events of 9/11 and interactive children’s show The Adventures of Isabel. Both works have received 4 star reviews.
We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who have knowledge or skills in these areas: Finance, Marketing and Fundraising. We hold board meetings every two months, which take place in Dundee. Whilst this is a voluntary role, expenses will be paid to cover Directors’ travel costs to attend meetings.
If you are interested in joining our board, please send your CV and expression of interest, stating why you think you would be a viable candidate to join our board to thomas@shapercaper.com
